Author: Gordon Francis

Hello there, I'm Gordon and I am a professional bass player and music educator living and working on the Devon/Cornwall border.I teach in schools and privately, mainly in the Plymouth area.I started out playing cornet and trombone in Brass Bands in and around Plymouth and went on to study trombone in the Royal Marines Band Service under Albert Thompson of the Scottish National Orchestra and also string bass. I turned professional after leaving the RMBS, both on trombone and bass guitar and have been teaching and playing ever since. I also conduct brass bands on occasion.I joined Plymouth Morris Men back in the 80's as a musician and have been involved in folk music as a dancer, caller, musician and bandleader ever since.Wassail!
