Brandon Village Ceilidh Project

Infectious foot stomping tunes from ex-Mawkin duo

The Brandon Village Ceilidh Project originates from the Norfolk town of the same name, with the band roving across East Anglia to entertain for weddings, parties and all manner of events. Their music originates from the British Isles and beyond, but the delivery is typically English, with an infectious rhythmic groove to get any party underway!

Brandon Village Ceilidh ProjectThe core band of James (violin) and Alex (diatonic button accordion) reunites two founder members of the awarding-winning folk band Mawkin (and the spin-off Mawkin:Causley). The two have delighted audiences around the world on stage and TV and regularly work with other high profile artists including the Mercury Award nominee Eliza Carthy, Jim Moray plus the popular Anglo French supergroup Topette!

A friendly caller – Andrew – completes the core line-up and will ensure that everyone is encouraged to get up and dance and they will know what the moves are – well, roughly at least… it’s always the chaos that makes a ceilidh most fun!

“I was very pleased with the band and everyone loved the music and dancing. The band were fun and professional. They managed the time very well even though we started a bit late due to still munching the hog roast, It really made our wedding day complete to see everyone charging around and having fun. Perfect!”
