The Unity Project are hosting a ceilidh* and we’d love for you to join us.
Expect music from the famous SOAS ceilidh band, dancing, food, drinks, games and a hair-raising raffle…
- Saturday 8th February 2020.
- 630pm – late.
- New Unity, 277a Upper Street, Islington, N1 2TZ (entrance next to the fire station).
- Nearest stations: Highbury and Islington / Angel (both are a 10 minute walk away).
The Unity Project is a community that exists to support migrants who are facing extreme poverty and/or homelessness because they have ‘No Recourse to Public Funds’ (NRPF).
We set up 2 years ago, and we’re volunteer-run. We’ve submitted nearly 200 applications for families with NRPF and had a 100% success rate in the past year. We’re also lobbying the government for change, which is a tough job at the best of times…!
We need funding to be able to continue, and we also want to celebrate everything we’ve achieved in the past 2 years, and we want to shake off a long winter!
Read more about who we are, what we do and why on our website/Twitter:
The ticket price includes a drink.
For people with No Recourse to Public Funds, or who are in receipt of public funds, we have a free guest list. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to be added in advance.
See you there!
*If you’ve never experienced a ceilidh, check it out on Youtube… And don’t worry – we’re all complete beginners and the band will tell us everything we need to know – you’ll pick it up or just spin around and nobody will bat an eyelid.
